About Welfare Rights
The Welfare Rights Centre Inc. is a state wide not for profit organisation which provides vulnerable Queenslanders with a specialist service that supports and advocates for them if they are having difficulties accessing appropriate Centrelink payments.
Our service includes a legal practice, community education programs and undertakes law and social policy reform projects that are fed into government decision making processes.
We are funded through the State and Commonwealth Governments, but as a registered charity, we always need to raise our profile to attract donations and sponsorship.
Our Vision
The WRC is an independent voice for fairness, determined to empower people who are often unheard.
WRC’s Strategic Intent
We focus our services towards bringing about change for the greatest number of people with intent to deliver high impact, high quality services through three core service models:
* Client Advocacy
* Community Education
* Law Reform and Policy Development.
